Langford is Dreaming
Computational Design | Digital Art | AI & Generative Systems
Langford is Dreaming is a digital art project that explores the memory of a building through generative design and AI-driven simulations. Inspired by Refik Anadol’s WDCH Dreams, this project envisions the Texas A&M Visualization Building (Langford C) as a living entity that 'dreams' of the countless animations, characters, and 3D models created by past students.
Using computational design techniques, the project generates a simulation where iconic characters—such as Sulley from Monsters, Inc. or figures from Cars—emerge and grow across Langford’s facade like digital ornaments, forming an evolving archive of the department’s creative legacy. This visualization transforms the building into an ever-changing monument to the artistic and technological innovations that have shaped the Texas A&M Visualization program.
By blending architecture, memory, and AI-driven art, Langford is Dreaming reimagines how digital spaces can preserve and narrate the history of creative communities.
